Kari Burkhart - Director

I have served as Library Director of the Urbana Public Library since 2024. I enjoy reading because it is something I do just for myself outside of a busy home and work life, and I believe literacy is essential to lifelong learning, opportunity, and community connection. I enjoy planning and working in the community I live in and am extremely proud of the library’s growth and progress since opening. I serve as First Vice President of the Urbana Lions Club and help plan many community-focused events in Urbana. I am currently completing my library director endorsement, with anticipated completion in April 2026. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family.

Kendra Coleman - Lead Library Assistant

I live in rural Urbana and work at both the Urbana Public Library and the CPU Intermediate School Library. I enjoy reading and supporting literacy because I believe strong literacy skills help children and families succeed both in and out of the classroom. I enjoy working with students and patrons in both settings. Outside of work, I stay busy with my three children and their many sports activities and enjoy caring for my small farm, as well as spending time on the river.
