Need a private place and reliable internet for a virtual medical appointment? We can help.

Urbana Public Library offers Telehealth Services to help community members connect with healthcare providers through virtual appointments.

The library has a telehealth tablet, private meeting room, reliable internet access, and noise-canceling headphones available for community use.

What We Provide

  • Telehealth tablet with internet access

  • Private room for your appointment

  • Noise-canceling headphones for additional privacy

  • Staff assistance with basic tablet and technology needs

There is no charge to use this service.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your medical appointment so you have time to get settled and connect to your appointment.

What You Need to Bring

Bring the instructions provided by your doctor's office, hospital, clinic, or other healthcare provider.

You are responsible for bringing any information needed to access your appointment, such as:

  • MyChart or other patient portal login information

  • Appointment link or instructions

  • Username and password

  • Any other information provided by your healthcare provider

Library staff cannot access your medical accounts, provide medical advice, or communicate with your healthcare provider on your behalf.

Your Privacy

Your telehealth appointment will take place in a private room. Noise-canceling headphones are also available.

Library staff can help with basic technology questions, but staff will respect your privacy and will not remain in the room during your medical appointment unless you specifically request technical assistance.

About the Telehealth Tablet

Urbana Public Library received the telehealth tablet through Iowa Health and Human Services, originating through Marion County Health and Human Services as part of an effort to improve access to healthcare, including resources supporting individuals affected by cancer and other health needs.

Urbana Public Library is the only recipient of a telehealth tablet in Benton County.
